Three More Arrested After Varyl Begg Incident

The RGP has arrested three local men, aged 27, 30 and 35, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident at Varyl Begg Estate on Friday. The arrests follow the earlier arrest of a 26-year-old man, with the investigation ongoing.

A statement from the RGP follows below:

Officers investigating a violent altercation that took place at Varyl Begg Estate on Friday  28th August 2026 have carried further arrests in connection with this incident.  

The latest arrests follow the arrest of a 26-year-old man local man on Friday 28th August  2026 on suspicion of Assault, and relate to three local men aged 27, 30 and 35, who have  all been arrested on suspicion of Causing Grievous Bodily Harm. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
