Dec 04 - GSD Welcomes Advocate General’s Opinion On Article 50
04 December 2018
The GSD has welcomed the Advocate General’s opinion in the proceedings currently before the European Court of Justice that an Article 50 notification of departure from the EU given by a Member State is capable of being withdrawn.
GSD Leader Keith Azopardi said: “Clearly we need to await the Court’s own judgment but this is a welcome first step in the process. Much may change from now till the end of the year and if circumstances change so as to deliver a People’s Vote or an opportunity for the UK to withdraw its Article 50 notification the GSD would fully support those developments.”
