UK Conservative MP David Morris is set to table a Bill in UK Parliament, defining Gibraltar’s territorial waters in UK law, guaranteeing the Rock further support from the UK, at sea.
Mr. Morris visited Gibraltar during National Day and this weekend told the Sun, ‘ there is no use falling out over it. Spain is not taking it back.’ The Bill is will also set out to enshrine a right for Gibraltar to require the UK to provide whatever Coast Guard support is needed.
Commenting on the Bill, Mr. Morris noted that it will ‘protect Gibraltar’s right to territorial waters under UK law, so that there can be no doubt where the territorial waters of Gibraltar are located geographically.’
He added that he has received a great deal of support for the bill from many Gibraltarians via Twitter. The Bill is set to be tabled in the House of Commons following Prime Minister’s questions on Wednesday.
