Mar 13 - GSD Condemns European Parliament Gibraltar Vote
Commenting on Yesterday’s European Parliament vote to exclude Gibraltar from Europe’s Single Sky legislation, the GSD Opposition has insisted that the decision is ‘more about political expediency than the concern of the European Parliament for people.’
They believe that this is a prime example of growing European distrust towards the EU.
Commenting on the matter Opposition Leader Daniel Feetham has urged the UK government to not allow the Spanish Government to ‘to get away with taking the benefits of the Cordoba Agreements whilst allowing them to resile from those parts of the agreements that benefit Gibraltar.’ He added, ‘Gibraltar’s efforts should now be focused on ensuring that the UK Government steps up to the plate in relation to its obligations to this community on this issue.’
