This morning, the Chief Minister met with Dr. Liam Fox, UK MP and former Secretary for Defence in the UK’s Conservative Cabinet. Dr. Fox’s visit was not one for business or politics, but rather a personal visit to Gibraltar, which happened to include a meeting with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

Speaking to the Press, Dr. Fox said it was always a pleasure to be here in Gibraltar, for whatever reason. He added that it is very important for politicians in Westminster to come ‘and see what is actually happening here, and understand the tremendous prosperity that’s being generated here , but also the frustration at the repeated and unacceptable behavior of the Spanish Government.’

The Chief Minister commented that it’s always a pleasure to see Dr. Fox, who as a former Defence Secretary understands the importance of Gibraltar strategically.
