Oct 03 - Government Dismisses GSD Housing Claims
Following suggestions by the Opposition of ongoing problems at the Mons Calpe Mews site, including loud noise, the Government has stated that in the five months since work began on the site it is rare for individuals to work later than 8pm.
A No.6 statement added, ‘however, on the night of 29 September a delivery of concrete arrived later than expected and the contractor had to use it before it hardened: this meant working until 1am. The contractors have since apologised for their actions and have promised that there will not be any repetition. Even so, they have been reprimanded for this instance of late working.’
The Government insisted that Mr. Reyes, Opposition Housing Minister has blown a single incident out of all proportion ‘and he should be ashamed of himself for such gross distortion of the facts.’
