Jul 25 - Gibraltarian Artist In Berlin Residency
The Gibraltarian artist Naomi Martinez is currently representing Gibraltar at the Berlin Art Residency where she is developing her ideas in urban public spaces.
The Berlin art residence exchange programme is a cultural development initiative organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, together with Lichtenberg Studios.
Residency Curator Francis Gomila, said: ‘Naomi is doing extremely well! You can see how much she and her work have developed and grown since arriving in Berlin. We are very pleased with her progress and creativity, and hold great hopes for the potential impact this young artist could have on her Gibraltarian peers.’
The exchange will continue in September, when Berlin artist Karen Koltermann will be travelling to Gibraltar as part of the residency. An exhibition by Naomi Martinez and Karen Koltermann will follow at the John Mackintosh Hall, and will be opened to the public as from Wednesday 3rd October.
