Mar 22 - Minister Supports Lymphoedema Awareness
22 March 2013
Minister for Health Dr. John Cortes paid a visit to the Breast Cancer Support Group's stand at St Bernard's Hospital today. The stand is part of the Group's campaign to raise awareness of lymphoedema, a condition that can occur following surgery for breast cancer.
The Minister was pleased to see the interest from the public and commented, ‘Increased awareness by the community of some of the less well known conditions leads to better health. I am pleased to be meeting regularly with the Breast Cancer Support Group. Together we are looking at ways of improving the various services we provide for cancer patients.’
