Aug 12 - Gibraltar International Bank On Track for Early 2015 Opening - Claims Chamber of Commerce
The Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce recently met with the senior executive of the Gibraltar International Bank, they believe that despite the considerable scale of the task for the executive team, which includes Chief executive Lawrence Podesta and Derek Sene, the team appears ‘undaunted by the challenge.’
Focus is currently on launching the bank for the public by the end of this year, or early in 2015. They have been actively recruiting staff, with the hopes of reaching a total of 50 employees by the end of 2014. These next few months will see staff members training on the bank’s software platform, and the various services the bank is looking to offer, for both individual and corporate clients. These include current accounts, savings accounts, treasury deposits, loans, mortgages, trade services and foreign exchange. The bank is looking to offer online banking facilities also.
With the bank’s dedicated location in Ince’s House currently being refurbished, a banking platform that has been selected. The Chamber insists that ‘everything is currently on track for the bank to open its doors by the end of the year or early in the New Year. Then Gibraltar will have its very own independent bank for local retail and corporate customers. It will be a welcome addition to the banks serving the needs of local businesses and individual customers alike.
