All have been hard at training at the various facilities and venues available and Gibraltar’s numbers are completed on Tuesday with the final instalment of athletes with the shooters touching down.
The weekend saw the flag raising and welcoming ceremony take place, where Gibraltar was joined by five African countries in a fun filled traditional welcome to the village and Australia by Aboriginal dancers, they were also joined by a dance troop and the village mayor in greeting to these shores with Chef de Mission Brian Buckley exchanging gifts on behalf of the team.

Gibraltar Commonwealth Games Association president Harry Murphy and general secretary Joe Schembri also attended the Commonwealth Games Federation annual assembly meeting on Saturday, where the next games in2022 were discussed among other things. On Tuesday the pair attended the CGF European meeting.
Commenting on this and the time down under so far, general secretary Joe Schembri said “The team’s settled in well to their temporary surroundings and are training hard ahead of competition in a few days time. The general assembly discussed a wide range of topics and there’s headway been made in the planning for Birmingham in 2022 and beyond.”
