Government Congratulates Special Olympics Gibraltar Football Team On Silver Medal

The Government has congratulated the Special Olympics Gibraltar football team on their silver medal in the Special Olympics five-a-side small nations football tournament in Lichtenstein.

His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar warmly congratulates Special Olympics Gibraltar football team on their silver medal in the Special Olympics five-a-side small nations football tournament in Lichtenstein.
The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, said: ‘Special Olympics Gibraltar athletes never fail to do us proud. The football team have brought home a silver medal from this international tournament in another fantastic achievement. Congratulations, you have done yourselves and your country proud.’
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said: ‘I am so proud to see the excellent job my many friends in Special Olympics football team have done representing Gibraltar. For them to have brought back a silver medal will fill us all with pride as we see that the Special Olympics team and their supporters make us proud wherever they go and whatever the final results may be."
