Gibraltar Sports And Leisure Authority And The Junior Darts Corporation Renew Their Existing Agreement

The Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Authority, on behalf of the Government of Gibraltar, has today renewed its existing agreement with the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) for a further three years.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The JDC will, in collaboration with the GSLA and the Gibraltar Darts Associations, continue to host the Junior World Championships and World Cup on the Rock up until the end of 2027.
The event has grown and gained popularity during the last years, attracting young darts players from all over the globe and their families, forming part of HMGoG’s continued event-led tourism policy.
Chairman of the JDC, Steve Brown, added: “Gibraltar has been fantastic for the JDC, and we’d like to think we’ve been good for Gibraltar too. We had a lot of interest from other locations but Gibraltar continues to feel like the perfect fit for the JDC. It is a safe environment, the kids look forward to going down there, and it is the darts highlight of the year for the majority of the players and their families. Gibraltar has become the Mecca of junior darts – and we’re really looking forward to continue putting on great events in Gibraltar for at least the next three years.”
The Minister for Sport, the Hon Leslie Bruzon said: “This event is a key highlight in our calendar, attracting youth players from across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and even as far as Mongolia to compete in Gibraltar. The Canadian National Darts Federation recently stated in an international publication that‘the dream of all our junior players is to represent Canada atthe JDC World Championships in Gibraltar.’ Luke Littler is a testament to this dream, showcasing how Gibraltar has played a vital role in shaping his journey to the top. This tournament also provides invaluable exposure and a springboard for local talents like Nico Bado as they step onto the international stage. We are delighted to welcome Steve Brown back to Gibraltar and look forward to an exciting three years ahead.”
