GDA Holds Carmelo Ellul Trophy

The GDA’s 2nd Ranking Tournament of the season, the Carmelo Ellul Trophy, took place earlier this month.
A statement from the GDA follows below:
On Tuesday 4th November the GDA’s 2nd Ranking Tournament of the season took place – the Carmelo Ellul Trophy.
This tournament is named after the late Carmelo Ellul, who was one of the Founders of the GDA in 1958.
25 players signed up to try and gain valuable points for the opportunity to represent Gibraltar at the next WDF World Cup.
The draw took place with 8 players seeded as per their current Ranking positions. All 8 seeded players saw off their opponents in the first and second Rounds to progress to the quarter finals.
Quarter-Finals
No1 seed Dyson Parody saw off No 8 seed Keith Medhurst Sr 4-1
No 4 seed Craig Galliano got the better of No 5 seed Ethan Pulham in a close match 4-3
No 2 seed Justin Hewitt lost to No7 seed Sean Negrette in another very close match 3-4
No 3 seed Nico Bado was also able to keep No 6 seed Juan Carlos Muñoz at bay with a score of 4-1.
Semi-Finals
Both Semi-Finals were played on Stage while Live Streamed. They proved entertaining to watch with solid scoring throughout. Dyson Parody was just able to stay ahead of Craig Galliano beating him 5-4. Nico Bado kept a determined Sean Negrette at bay with a 5-2 win.
Final
The Final was also live streamed from the Stage; The initial legs were close until Nico was able to surge ahead and clinching the win 6-3.
