Jul 23 - Calpe Rowing Club Win Gold in British Championships
The Calpe Rowing team brought home a further round of gold medals this week following their win in Under 14s coxed quad category. The club took part in the British Rowing Championships juniors in Nottingham, competing against the UK’s top clubs.
The squad has brought home seven gold medals since 2000, with this year’s feat thanks to Jack Prior, Jake Moreno, Julian Vinales, Jenson Doolan, Brandon Perez the cox. The squad managed to win by a margin of five minutes.
Team members Lee Perez and Antonio Warr also brought home a silver medal in the Junior 16 category.
This afternoon Chief Minister Fabian Picardo invited the team to his office to congratulate them on their feat. There they presented the Chief Minister with a photograph commemorating their win.
