Sep 04 - HM Customs Enforcement Qualifications
Thirteen Officers of HM Customs Enforcement Division recently qualified as operators of the SAFRAN Morpho Ion Trace Detection apparatus. This equipment tests for the extant and past presence of narcotics, explosives, chemical and biological agents and has already produced valuable results in the first few weeks of operation.
The training was conducted by the regional manager of Morpho Detection (UK) Ltd.
Customs Officers PI Cornelio, S Schembri, J Gonzalez, A MacDonald, R Mor, RW Pitaluga, D Garcia, J Gracia and SJ Peralta were all certified as Mobile Trace Detection Operators. Additionally, Enforcement Surveyor CJ McHard, Executive Officers EP Danino and J Payas and officer N Gomez were presented with certificates for administration and maintenance of the apparatus.
John S Rodriguez, Collector of Customs, presided over the award presentation.
