Aaron Soleci Solo Exhibition At Kitchen Studios

Local artist Aaron Soleci held his fourth solo exhibition yesterday evening.

Titled 'Till the Wheels Fall Off', the event was held at Kitchen Studios in South Barrack Close.

Speaking at the event, Aaron said “Thank you all for coming, I hope you all enjoy the work and it’s lovely to see many familiar faces.”

Works on display and on sale include a new series of “cartoon” paintings featuring Mickey Mouse, Homer Simpson, Spongebob and others where Aaron takes familiar figures from popular culture but gives them a darker psychological edge in his use of colour and distortion of form.

Some of the artist’s ‘Solecisms’ were also on display with their characteristic surreal imagery. Darkly humorous works accompanied by text were placed side by side with more traditional portraits.
