Collado And Victor Joint Exhibition Opens
A joint exhibition of artworks by Rose Ann Victor and Nadine Collado opened yesterday evening at the Fine Arts Gallery in Casemates.
Titled ‘When Colour Meets Gaze - A Shared Language’, works from both artists will be on display at the Casemates gallery until the 6th November.
Nadine Collado opened by saying that 10% of the money received from the sale of their artworks would go towards Cancer Relief Gibraltar.
She continued by explaining how she and Rose Ann Victor had met at several artistic events in the last few years and come up with the idea of a joint exhibition.
“We have very different artistic styles,” Ms Collado said. “As you can see, I’m abstract and she does portraiture. She does human emotion and I do energy and texture.”
Ms Victor said: “Art speaks when words fall silent and colour becomes a language we all understand, this is the essence of our vision.”
She said that colour provided the shared language that brought together their different styles.
“In many ways, this exhibition is a celebration of our friendship,” she said, adding that they were both strongly united by their belief in the importance of supporting and empowering others.
“When you buy an original piece of art you are buying so much more than just a picture to hang on a wall—you are taking home a piece of our imagination, emotion, time and personal journey.”
