ESG Backs Nautilus Project’s Concerns Over Proposed Data Centre

The ESG has backed The Nautilus Project’s concerns about the potential impact of heated water discharged from the proposed MEGA Data Centre on the Bay’s marine environment. The group says this is among several reasons it believes a data centre of this scale is unsuitable for Gibraltar.
A statement from the ESG follows below:
The ESG wishes to support The Nautilus Project (TNP) statement voicing concerns of the significant impacts the potential discharge of heated water, from the proposed MEGA Data Centre, could wreak on the bay marine environment.
“The TNP outlines these threats in detail and highlights why a centre of this size should not be allowed to go ahead,” said an ESG spokesperson.
This impact, along with other ESG voiced concerns, is why the group believes such a massive centre does not belong in Gibraltar.
