Minister Arias-Vasquez Meets UK Prime Minister In Liverpool

Minister Gemma Arias-Vasquez met UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham in Liverpool to discuss Gibraltar-UK relations and the provisional implementation of the Treaty.

The Government will attend seven UK party conferences this autumn.

A statement from the Government follows below:

The Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP, has met the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, in Liverpool.

She congratulated the Prime Minister on taking office and wished him well for his first annual Conference as Leader. They discussed the close relationship between Gibraltar and the United Kingdom and the implementation of the Treaty, which has applied provisionally since 15 July.

The Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP, said: "I am grateful to the Prime Minister for his time and for a warm and constructive conversation. I thanked him for the work and support of his Government on all matters relating to Gibraltar, which is greatly appreciated. Gibraltar and the United Kingdom share a long and close friendship, and I look forward to building on it with the Prime Minister and his Government."

HM Government of Gibraltar is attending a total of seven UK party conferences this autumn.
