The online tax return submission service is temporarily unavailable while the Income Tax Office carries out work on a new digital platform.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The Government of Gibraltar wishes to advise taxpayers that the online tax return submission service is temporarily unavailable while essential system work is completed to implement a new, fully integrated digital tax service.
This forms part of a wider programme of improvements to modernise tax services and provide taxpayers with a more efficient, secure and streamlined digital experience.
During this period, taxpayers wishing to submit their tax return are requested to complete and submit the downloadable PDF tax return form, available on the Income Tax Office page of the Government of Gibraltar website:
https://www.gibraltar.gov.gi/income-tax-office
Completed tax returns should be submitted by email in accordance with the instructions contained in the form. Guidance on completing the tax return is also available on the same webpage.
These interim arrangements will remain in place until the end of September, when the new online tax return submission service is expected to become available.
The Income Tax Office will provide further updates as implementation progresses and will announce the launch date of the new service in due course.
Taxpayers are assured that these temporary arrangements will not affect the standard of service provided by the Income Tax Office. The use of the downloadable PDF tax return form does not impact the efficiency or productivity of our operations and staff continue to process tax returns and assist taxpayers with the same diligence and commitment as always.
The Government apologises for any inconvenience caused, and thanks taxpayers for their patience, understanding and cooperation while these important improvements are completed. The new integrated platform will deliver a more modern, secure and efficient digital service, making it easier for taxpayers to access and manage their tax affairs online.
