Sep 29 - All Set For Gibraltar’s Biggest Ever Dance Event
- Over 600 dancers representing 16 nations across Europe
- 1,200 visitors
- 155 local dancers drawn from six dance schools.
The IDO European Showdance Championships - set to start this Thursday – are, in the words of GNDO President Seamus Byrne, “The biggest dance event in the Rock’s history!”
International Dance Organisation President Michael Wendt, speaking at a press conference this afternoon at the Caleta Hotel, said he was very excited ahead of the competition adding that he had noted in previous events that local audiences were “very enthusiastic.”
The Minister of Culture, Steven Linares, said that the dance championships were yet another example of his Government’s commitment to “events-led tourism”.
