Jul 04 – Afterhours And William Gomez Announced For Gibraltar Music Hall Of Fame
Local band Afterhours and guitar extraordinaire William Gomez are the first two artists announced for the inaugural Gibraltar Music Hall of Fame. Their induction comes as Afterhours celebrate their thirtieth anniversary.
The “momentous and unexpected decision” was revealed by one of the Gibraltar Live Music Society’s reps David J. Diaz after the band’s gig this past Friday.
“It is the honour of the GLMS to officially announce this new venture and induct Afterhours and the late great William Gomez. We have always been about paying tribute to those local musicians who paved the way and made the local music scene what it has become today and we couldn’t think of a better way to honour them than to start a Hall of Fame.”
The GLMS aims to induct those who have left their mark locally as well as abroad and are expected to announce more inductees for the inaugural Class of 2018 soon.
