Jun 13 - Chindia Hits The Streets
The show ‘Chindia in the Street’ took place yesterday at Chatham Counterguard as part of the Gibraltar World Music Festival (GWMF).
The show was created by Nathan Conroy with an array of performances to celebrate CHINDIA, cultures of China and India, in conjunction with Gibraltar Productions.
The whole area was transformed into a performance area showcasing a Street Parade with live music, dance, balance acts, circus acts, fire-eaters which also featured international artists.
Nathan Conroy also demonstrated his latest contemporary works together with the launch of his new art film Gibraltar Chindia.
All the population in Gibraltar was invited for a free show and enjoyed good wine, food and an unforgettable performance.
Main Show
On the 19th of June, at St. Michael’s Cave, three concerts will take place with the famous composer and producer Nitin Sawhney as the main artist of this year’s GWMF.
Before his concert, the audience will have the opportunity of have a taste of oriental ancient music with the performance of Guo Gan and Mieko Miyazaki. And between them, the Israeli percussionist Itamar Doari will make a bridge linking both styles of music.
