Nov 27 - GSD Candidate Edwin Reyes Says The GSD Has An Affordable Vision For Gibraltar
After five long weeks of campaigning, GSD candidate Edwin Reyes thinks the run up to the election has gone quite well.
He said the development of policies is not something that takes place within five weeks, but rather takes a while to develop, and it’s under the leadership of Daniel Feetham that the GSD has been able to keep to its fundamental core beliefs and policies introduced by former leader Sir Peter Caruana.
Mr Reyes adds: “The new leader has worked well with his team to ensure we have what we consider to be an affordable vision for Gibraltar.”
He said today was a long day, and visited the various polling stations around Gibraltar.
He said: “My preferred outcome is that the people entrust the GSD to become the next government, but if the people so desire to return the GSLP-Liberals into government, then as a democrat one accepts that whole heartedly, and I just hope that we end up being a good strong opposion, really representative of what the people want.
“That’s what we’ve been saying for the past four years – the government must be answerable to the people and the way to answer for it is not only once every four years, but in Parliamentary sessions. It’s not about the frequency of these sessions, but the quality of answers from the government that makes a true democracy.”
