Gibraltar has become a member of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), an international organisation made up of national governments, private companies and civil society working towards the reduction of short-lived pollutants such as carbon and Hydrofluorocarbons.
Number Six says it has not made any public statements in respect of Government overtime. The issue first entered the public domain following an answer given to a direct question from GBC asking if a ban on overtime in Government Departments had been imposed. The Government then confirmed that it has stopped all non-essential overtime.
The GSD notes that unpaid rents now stand at over £6 Million.
The party says that it is right that Government rental accommodation must always be provided to those members of our community who most need this subsidy. However, the GSD says that levels of unpaid rents “have increased year on year and even more so under the GSLP Government.”
The Government says its policy on the Victoria Stadium was made clear in the manifesto voted for by almost 70% of the electorate. The current policy is consistent with that which was being pursued as far back as May 2013 when Opposition Members Daniel Feetham and Edwin Reyes asked Parliamentary questions on this subject.
