The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, in his capacity as Leader of the House in Parliament, has today thanked Mrs Isobel Ellul-Hammond for her service as a Member of Parliament since December 2011.

Opposition MP Isobel Ellul-Hammond has resigned her Parliamentary seat with effect from today.
The Leader of the Opposition, Daniel Feetham, will be interviewed tomorrow at 1 pm on Spanish radio Onda Cero (FM 89.1).
The GSD says it welcomes the statement made by the GFA that it has listened to the objections from a very significant section of the community against the building of the National Football Stadium at Europa Point. The Opposition says it hopes that the statement signifies that it has identified an alternative site for the stadium. The party says that building a stadium at Europa Point “was not in the interests of the community or football as a whole” and that its own opposition to the project “has been consistent and clear from the very outset.”
A meeting of the Development and Planning Commission (DPC) this morning approved the granting of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) certificate to the proposed development of a new power station at the North Mole. The approval is subject to certain conditions being met including the green light being given to an LNG storage facility and the use of advanced pollution mitigation technology.
