09 May - GSD Questions Hong Kong Office Appointment by Government

gsdThe GSD notes the Government’s announcement that it has opened an office in Hong Kong. They have claimed that the announcement raises many questions including whether a post was advertised for the representative of the office?

They go on to ask, ‘were there any other applicants? What remuneration and any other perks is the appointee receiving? Why is he described as a representative and a director? What is he expected to be a director of? What staff, if any, is he going to have? What experience and/or qualifications does the successful appointee have which will enable him to access the Chinese market?’

May 07 - GSD Welcomes Unite Comments On Vocational Training

The GSD Opposition has welcomed the comments made by the Young Members’ Committee of Unite the Union calling for the revival of the apprenticeships programmes and a return to the trade and partnership agreements with the private sector. The GSD Opposition says it is well known that it has expressed serious concern at the lack of good quality or any training, which is currently being provided and has been sharply critical of the abandonment of the partnership agreements, which it had negotiated when in Government with some of the major companies in the private sector.

May 07 - Government Insists GSD Takes Politics ‘to a New Low’
