Jan 11 - La Voz Kids Semi-Finalist Elisha Lang To Perform On Stage In Gibraltar

Elisha Lang, semi-finalist on La Voz Kids, will take to the stage for a concert in Gibraltar together with fellow contestants Mar Hernandez and Jose Luis Cantero Ponce.

Tickets are currently on sale for the The Voice of Elisha Lang and Friends which will be held in John Mackintosh Hall on Saturday evening at 8pm.

Westside School pupil Elisha, 12, will be performing 12 songs, by artists such Whitney Houston, Beyonce, Sia and a surprise number, and she will also be performing two duets with Mar and Jose Luis, with acoustic music provided by singer and songwriter Nigel Palmer and JetStream frontman Nolan Frendo.

The show, which is produced by Ideal Productions, will also feature music from Kristian Celecia, Mar and Jose Luis, and performances from Danza Academy and Old School.

It’s been a busy couple of months for Elisha since she was sent off La Voz Kids in the semifinals in October. She has been writing her own music, and has been performing locally as well as in Spain, and making her own music videos for her YouTube channel.

While practicing for the show, Elisha has also been in the middle of producing a fun, upbeat music video with her fellow dancers from Old School joining her for it.

Elisha’s plan for this year is to complete her first album, with a minimum of six original tracks – Give me a Chance is one song co-written with Nigel which she will be performing in public for the first time on Saturday night.

Elisha has also been in touch with Gibraltar-born Albert Hammond, who has shown a lot of support for her, and has offered to write a song for her first album.

Elisha said: “I was overwhelmed when Albert Hammond offered to write a song for me.

“I was amazed that he wrote a song for Whitney Houston and now he’s writing a song for me. I just feel very privileged.”

Elisha’s dad Scott added: “It’s absolutely fantastic because Albert Hammond has written for Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and it is absolutely amazing.

“Elisha realises how big Hammond is, but for her if it was a message from Manuel Carrasco she’d be over the moon. I think she’s now understanding how big he really is.

“We asked him to come for the show, but unfortunately he won’t be able to make it, but he’s been very supportive of Elisha throughout.”

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £30 for VIP – where ticket holders will receive a signed T-Shirt and have the opportunity to meet the starts - and £15 for downstairs.

Tickets are available to buy at Marble Arc, Carrefour in La Linea, and on www.ticketea.com.
