Manuel Tirado, CEO and Captain of the Port (Acting) has wished Mike Toogood all the best on behalf of the Gibraltar Port Authority and its staff as he departs from Gibraltar to take up a new role in Southampton.
Mike, who joined the GPA in 2010 as VTS Manager, has made a significant contribution to the Port since he joined and has been a key figure in the implementation and running of the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) manned by the GPA’s team of VTS staff.
Mike has also been involved in the acquisition of the new VTS system, currently being installed in the new port building.
Mike leaves behind a strong team of highly dedicated individuals who are committed to the principles of being a ‘Centre of Maritime Excellence’.
