Sep 21 - Ministry For Equality Introduce Pannel For Women’s Mentorship Programme
The Ministry for Equality has introduced the panel for the Women’s Mentorship Programme. The panel is comprised of a number of professionals and representative bodies from the business community.
The panel will be chaired by Marlene Dalli, Policy Development Officer at the Department of Equality and includes Amy Hayward, Angelique Linares, Managing Partner EY, Julian Byrne, Chair of Gibraltar Federation of Small Business, Peter Mares, MD Girls in Tech Gibraltar, Janet Brear, Chair Women in Business and Catherine Grant Chamber of Commerce.
The Women’s Mentorship Programme, will be launched at an information evening next Tuesday September 6pm at the Garrison Library and is open to anyone who may wish to learn more on the process of how to become a mentor or mentee.
A spokesperson said: "The programme is an integral part of the Gender Equality Strategy, which aims to encourage women to consider leadership and management positions and which aims to reduce the overall gender pay gap in the long term."
The deadline for applications is 5th October and the panel will consider applications to best match mentors and mentees thereafter.
Minister Sacramento, said: "I am pleased to be able to announce the members of the Women’s Mentorship Programme Panel. I am delighted that leading professionals from different fields and different organisations are represented on this panel and I have no doubt that this will contribute to the Programme’s success. This Programme aims to promote greater gender diversity in the work place and aims to develop women’s potential fully. This makes sound business sense as research shows that organisations which are more diverse fare better. I would like to thank all members of the panel for their support and I look forward to the launch of the Programme."
