Minister Albert Isola and CEO of the Gibraltar International Bank Lawrence Podesta then officially launched the new ATM machine at the Royal Gibraltar Post Office premises in 104 Main Street.

Gibraltar’s oldest Pillar Box was also inaugurated in memory of Frank Bado.

A spokesperson said: "The mural letter box was in use for nearly a century. When it sustained considerable damage that made it unusable, it was removed in 1994 and replaced by a George VI mural letter box. The mural was left in storage of 25 years but it has now been given a new lease of life. This mural letter box and the pillar box outside the Law Courts are the only original letter boxes of the reign of Queen Victoria in Gibraltar. It is thanks to Mr Frank Bado’s and Ms Tracey Baglietto’s hard work and dedication that we are now able to have this Pillar Box in full operation. A special thanks to the team at Western Isles who have done a fabulous job in restoring the Pillar Box. Mr Frank Bado sadly passed away last month and the Pillar box will be officially inaugurated by Mr Frank Bado’s partner Ms Sally Godwin."
