Feb 15 - ASCTEG Fight Frontier Tobacco Regulation
15 February 2013
Cross Border association Ascteg has formalised an appeal against the recently appointed rule stating that individuals living close to the Gibraltar frontier are only allowed to carry four packets of cigarettes through border control, each month.
Europa Sur notes that the group has send a letter to the Andalucia Ombudsman, Jose Chamizo to promote a constitutional complaint. Ascteg’s legal representation claims that the law is a clear discrimination against those living in the area. The Group insists that individuals should be allowed to carry through such an amount, every time they cross the frontier.
