Jul 02 - Friends of Mount Alvernia Committee Chairwoman Retires
In a flurry of nerves, chairperson of the Friends of Mount Alvernia Committee, Mercy Posso this afternoon thanked the staff of the home for their assistance with the charity’s work over the years. She noted that it was a very sad day for her and her husband, Maurice to have to retire from the group. She insisted that they would continue to attend Sunday mass at Mount Alvernia’s Chapel and to visit the staff and residents.
During a reception hosted at Mount Alvernia, Minister Sacramento thanked Mercy for all her hard work and ‘complete dedication’, over the past 25 years. She also congratulated the Committee, and Mercy for receiving both a Governor’s Award, and a Mayor’s Award for their tireless work with the Care Home. Minister Sacramento insisted that the work of the committee has been superb, and that it was Mercy who instigated the newly appointed bus route to Mount Alvernia. She added that it was important to work with Committees, as they know exactly what is going on ‘on the ground’. Minister Sacramento explained that she can only benefit from working with them.
On behalf of the Care Agency, Mercy was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a necklace.
