Aug 02 - Gibraltar Playgrounds Revamped by GSLA
Several of Gibraltar’s children’s playgrounds have gone through extensive refurbishment programmes under the GSLA, over the past few weeks, these include the playgrounds in St Joseph’s and Vineyards estates.
The biggest project has been the playground in Cathedral Square in front of the Anglican Cathedral. Here, all the old equipment has been removed and replaced with brand-new facilities. The playground’s benches have been refurbished and a special rubber flooring has been laid so as to minimise accidents.
This morning the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia was shown round the newly refurbished playground by the CEO of the GSLA Joe Hernandez. Dr Garcia said that the Government was delighted to have given effect to another manifesto commitment.
Similar improvements are planned for playgrounds in Sir William Jackson Grove, Chilton Court, Catalan Bay and Harbour Views.
