Monarch Travel Group Introduces Gibraltar to Mainstream Holiday Programme

Monarch travel group GibraltarIn a statement issued earlier today, Monarch Travel Group has announced that it is introducing Gibraltar to its main stream holiday programme.

The statement reads:

Using Monarch’s flexible flying programme with flights from three UK airports, Gibraltar is now on sale with departures available on a year round basis.  UK visitors can select the length of stay that is most suitable either as a holiday package or flight-only.  On a weekly basis, up to six flights are available from Luton, up to four flights from Manchester and up three flights from Birmingham.

With the launch of the spectacular new five star yacht hotel Sunborn Gibraltar last month, the holiday company is offering a mix of accommodation to meet demand for city breaks and longer beach stays. Other deluxe properties on offer include the Rock Hotel as well as the O’Callaghan Eliott.

Gibraltar’s Minister for Tourism, Public Transport, Commercial Affairs and the Port Neil Costa MP, said “I am delighted that Cosmos has selected Gibraltar for inclusion in its new UK brochure. This positive development underlines the Gibraltar Government’s strong political and financial commitment to ensuring Gibraltar has a vibrant and quality tourist product to export to the world. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Cosmos and to forging a mutually beneficial partnership to promote Gibraltar’s unique appeal as a destination in the Mediterranean.”

The Monarch Travel Group’s Director, Michael Vinales commented:  “Monarch’s extensive choice of flights from key UK airports means we can offer customers an interesting and different alternative to the usual Mediterranean short break destinations.”

He added: “The appeal of Gibraltar to the UK market as a short break destination is clear and initial sales for this summer have exceeded expectations.  We will be looking to develop our hotel portfolio in the near future.”
