Jan 14 - EX RSM Selected for Commission

alex stone Former RSM of the Regiment, Alex Stone has been selected for a Late Entry Commission and is now an Officer in the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.

Captain Stone has been in the Regiment for 24 years and has been working within Headquarters British Forces for the past 10 months, following his commission he will continue with his role as Training Officer for Command.

Commenting on his commission, Captain Stone noted, ‘the leap from Senior Non Commissioned Officer to Officer has really made me re-define my goals and aspirations, I look forward to networking in a different environment, although who I am as person has pretty much developed since first joining the Regiment I will never been the end product, I will continue to grow and learn throughout the next stage in my career.’

Throughout his career in the Regiment, Captain Stone has served in Germany, Canada, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone and Kenya. He thanked his family and friends for their support, as well as the Commanding Officer. the Chief of Staff and Lt Col Vowels for affording him the confidence to apply for a commission.

Captain Stone is set to complete online training followed by a 4 week Late Entry Commission Course in Sandhurst, UK, he will extend his service for a further six years and is due to stay in his current role for the next two to three years before returning to the Regiment.
