Late last year local beauty salon Aphrodite Beauty, having made a significant name for itself in Ocean Village, welcomed clients to its newest premises on Main Street. Another success story for Gibraltar’s expanding local business community.
Offering an extensive range of services, from manicures and pedicures using shellac to body wraps and facial treatments, Aphrodite has entrenched itself a loyal following of local clients after initially aiming their sights on a clientele of expats, four and a half years ago.
The new premises, located near the top of Main Street on the corner of Cathedral Square proves convenient for many customers wishing to pop in for quick treatments, but without the time to trek to Ocean Village.
Owner Helen Darvill also teaches, granting professional beauty qualifications to hardworking students, with some having gone on to work at Aphrodite. Helen explained her mantra of believing in properly qualified beauticians, which is not seen so often in Gibraltar. With a hefty host of competition on the Rock, Aphrodite prides itself in its professional nature and qualified staff.
Helen is looking to introduce new massage treatments this year, including bamboo massage and new acrylic and gel nail products by Denise Taylor who has developed a new innovative method. The salon keeps extraordinarily busy throughout the Summer months, and the weeks leading up to Christmas.
With a launch party looking to be held early this year, Helen puts her success down to her tireless staff and unwavering customer support.
