Apr 15 - Mini Roundabout Project At Glacis Road Junction With Bayside Road
As part of the Draft Sustainable Traffic, Transport and Parking Plan, the Government says it is pleased to announce the implementation of a new pilot scheme which will see the introduction of a temporary roundabout at the junction between Glacis Road and Bayside Road in order to improve traffic flow and local access in the area.
The roundabout will initially be in operation for a period of three months and traffic counters will be mounted in the area to collect traffic data to allow the success of this pilot scheme to be assessed.
The Minister for Traffic, Paul Balban, said:
“This was one of the changes proposed within the draft Sustainable Traffic, Transport and Parking Plan which we are pleased to test prior to further developments in the area. On completion of such development the data collected as part of the pilot scheme will be essential in deciding the viability of a permanent roundabout in this location in future.”
