Minister For Sport Sends His Best Wishes To Local Hockey Clubs
Minister Leslie Bruzon has sent his best wishes to three of Gibraltar’s hockey clubs which are involved in European competitions later this week.
A statement from the Government follows below:
Three of Gibraltar’s hockey clubs will be involved in European competition later this week.
In men's hockey, both Eagles and Grammarians Hockey Clubs will travel to Toruń in Poland to compete in the EuroHockey Challenge II. The tournament takes place between the 21st and 24th May with Eagles and Grammarians playing in the same competition for the second time in history and a chance of facing each other during the tournament.
Europa Women’s Hockey Club will be in Brzeziny, Poland, competing in the EuroHockey Club Challenge I. The tournament that will take place this coming weekend from the 22nd to 25th May and will see them facing strong opposition HAHK Mladost (Croatia), HC Luxembourg (Luxembourg) and Penarth LHC (Wales) in the group stages.
Minister for Sport, the Hon Leslie Bruzon sends all three teams his best wishes adding: “It is once again the time of year when our hockey fraternity flies the Gibraltar flag at European Club events. As usual, they will be great ambassadors and will no doubt produce performances and results that we can all be proud of. Safe travels and best of luck to all three teams involved”.
