Music Makes me Feel Good!

My taste in music has been described as varied with a tendency to lean to late seventies Rock. I have always been fascinated on how music can define some of the major milestones in your life, how it can lift your heart or bring tears to your eyes.

I don’t care who you are, unless you are deaf of course, music will have had some kind of impact in your life. The origins of music are said to have risen between 60-30 thousand years ago, around the same time that early humans started painting the walls of caves and burying their dead.

For me, I guess that music became a constant companion in my early teens, as is with most people. Growing up listening to tapes of ACDC, Iron Maiden, Saxon with some Judas Priest and Led Zeppelin on my trusty RCA Shoebox cassette Player recorder under the covers with a single earpiece.

Rock music for me must have been what it was for my parents something that was telling you to rebel, to go against the grain to stand up for your rights to be heard, most parents dislike their young finding solace in music because they know exactly how dangerous it can be, after all they were teenagers too. They know what’s coming.

The older I have got the wider my preference in music has become, I could quite happily listen to Pantera one moment and the Vienna Boys Choir the next, every different piece evoking different emotions, some times I will listen to music to change the way I feel, it has the power to do that.

Who ever you are, music is and will be a part of you, your first kiss, first dance, the first time you had the butterflies for someone, all these will be accompanied by your own personal sound track that will follow you around and get larger as you get older.

Even in the end people pay credence to the power of music by selecting a specific song or piece of music to be played at their funeral. I have already selected mine. It will have to be Highway To Hell by ACDC the first track I ever banged my head to.
