Right. I am not going to sugar coat anything I am about to write next because you will probably eat that too. FAD DIETS are Dangerous! They are inefficient sure ways of losing a few pounds both in weight and pocket only to find out that the pounds in your pocket don’t come back but the ones around your waist will.

But how to you spot a FAD DIET? Well for starters anything Vanessa Feltz tries to sell you.  Any celebrity who endorses weight loss has probably cheated by having surgery like Liposuction or Gastric Bands and defiantly not by the traditional methods.

Any weight loss plans that promise instant results or by removing whole food groups will quickly leave you Rolling in the Deep Pan Piazza as soon as you cannot tolerate the little rabbit pellets that taste like stale farts or you cannot look at another lettuce in the eye anymore.

If a FAD DIET insists on you buying a revolutionary food substitute or a magic pill at a premium as part of the weight loss regime, you and your excess fat are being duped.

The dangers of rapid weight loss can cause a whole series of stresses on the body by not meeting basic nutritional needs.  Some of the signs that a FAD DIET is not healthy for you are as follows.

Muscle cramps

Confusion

Fainting

Dehydration

Constant hunger

The really sad fact is that almost all quick fix diets are setting up the individual to fail, when the diet is hard to follow and they quit, the dieter will inevitably blame themselves and develop psychological problems like depression and bulimia and low self esteem and the whole cycle of over eating and dieting will begin again trapping you in a perpetual fight against your mind and fat.

I am not a nutritionist nor do I have any fancy letters after my name but it does not take the brains of a well known wheelchair bound, Astro Physicist to figure out why you are fat. (Barring Thyroid or diabetes problems) YOU ARE FAT BECAUSE YOU EAT TOO MUCH AND DO NOT EXERCISE. There I said it.

The secret to losing weight is stop eating 4000 calories a day when you only need 1700 to function. In the modern world where the furthest you have to go to get a meal is the distance between your couch and fridge and this my cuddly friend is an insult to our ancestors who had to spend days on the hunt for Woolly mammoth or collecting berries.

If you really want to lose weight, take a real good look at what you consume on a daily basis and halve it. Cut out soft drinks, crisps and all the other crap that you do not need. Eat real food, ensure that you cover all the food groups in small portions spreading it out throughout the day and nothing after darkness, over time and with some exercise you will see some long lasting positive effects. The better you start to look the easier it will become.
