Feb 25 - GFA Veterans Donate £400 To Gib Mission Africa
A donation of £400 will go towards “making lots of children happy” as the money raised at the Gibraltar FA’s annual Veterans Cavalcade Cup was handed over to Father George Grima of Gib Mission Africa.
Before receiving the cheque at the GFA offices in Irish Town earlier today, Father Grima was shown a video of money raised by the GFA grassroots squad during a sponsored walk, which can be seen on the YGTV Facebook page here.
While receiving the money, Father Grima said the money raised will go towards building a home for children with disabilities.
He explained that one of the issues he wanted to raise in Gibraltar is that hundreds of thousands of children are dying daily because of a drought in Africa.
Father Grima added: “All of this makes a difference to many lives, and I want to thank you for these efforts, because all these efforts – small or big – make miracles.”
Leslie Asquez, GFA’s grassroots manager, said the GFA will continue to carry out charity work to help others.
