Oct 06 - More Than £2,000 Raised At Gibraltar's Biggest Coffee Morning
Gibraltar’s Biggest Coffee Morning, was held last Thursday at Boyds, Kings Bastion Leisure Centre, and was a tremendous success. It was a record breaking event - some 325 supporters joined the charity's fund-raising team, sharing cups of coffee or tea with friends and families all to raise the fantastic amount of £2623 for Cancer Relief.
A spokesperson for the charity said: "We would like to thank everyone who attended as well as our brilliant team of fund-raising volunteers for all their help. Our grateful thanks also goes to the following shops, restaurants and companies who so generously donated prizes for the raffle: Antonio Jewellers, Benamor, Biancas, Bonmarche, Cadenza, Essardas, F & F, Hotu, Khubchands, Lewis Stagnetto Ltd, Marble Arc, Music Corner, Parodytur, Pashmina, Peacocks, S. M. Seruya Ltd, Sunborn Gibraltar Yacht Hotel, Tagore, The Jewel Box, Time Out Café and Top Choice Appliances. The names of the raffle prize winners can be found on Cancer Relief’s Facebook page, Cancer Relief Gibraltar and the Cancer Relief Centre. In addition to this, Cancer Relief Gibraltar would like to thank Image Graphics, Crafts4U, G&S LED displays and Colorworks who helped publicise the event. A big thank you also to Boyd's for their support and for their donation of £165.25 to the morning.
"Our goal is to make sure that no one has to face cancer alone. Since the new Cancer Relief Centre opened in 2013 we have been able to support over 450 people, some patients and others loved ones. None of this would be possible were it not for the generosity of so many people in the community so once again, A HUGE THANK YOU to all our supporters!"
