Feb 07 - Sir Joe Becomes Patron Of Calpe House Trust
The Trustees and Directors of The Calpe House Charitable Trust and Calpe House Ltd have announced that they have unanimously invited Sir Joe Bossano to become patron of the trust and that he has "enthusiastically accepted the invitation."
A spokesperson said: “The appointment of Sir Joe as patron is intended to acknowledge the staunch, constant and unwavering support which Sir Joe has given Calpe House from the outset, both whilst in government and opposition, and to honour him for this support. The success of Calpe House owes immeasurably to Sir Joe’s support, an example of which was his key role in the appeal to raise funds to purchase the existing Calpe House at Bayswater. By acceptance of this appointment, Sir Joe has once again demonstrated his continuing support and commitment to the Calpe House charity, which is and has always been, close to his heart.
“During the past 30 years over 6,000 patients from Gibraltar receiving treatment in London, and their escorts, have made use of Calpe House. Hopefully, this made a difficult time for them a little easier to bear.”
