Relay For Life Gibraltar 2025 Raises Over £130,000

The Relay For Life Gibraltar 2025 held at Lathbury Sports Complex early June brought together over 1,200 participants with the event having so far raised £134,562.
A statement from the Relay For Life Gibraltar Organising Comittee follows below:
The Relay For Life Gibraltar 2025 held at Lathbury Sports Complex on the 7th-8th June brought together over 1,200 participants in an unforgettable 24-hour celebration of life, resilience, and community. From the first brave steps of our youngest cancer survivors to the final emotional lap, this year’s Relay reminded us all: together, we are stronger.
And what a result. Thanks to the boundless generosity of Gibraltar, the event has so far raised a record-breaking £134,562, pushing our cumulative Relay total to a phenomenal £539,084. Eight relays later, and we’re still going stronger than ever.
It wasn’t just those walking the track who made a difference. A constant stream of spectators attended throughout the weekend to cheer on the teams, attend moving ceremonies, and simply be present in support. Behind the scenes, sponsors, volunteers and staff worked tirelessly to keep things running smoothly. Every person — whether stepping forward on the track, staffing a stand, lifting a spirit, or helping out quietly — played a vital role in making this event the huge success that it was.
Every moment — from the inspiring Candle of Hope ceremony, to the performances, laughter, and shared memories — reflected the spirit of Relay: we Celebrate, we Remember, we Fight Back.
The organising committee wishes to thank everyone who attended, participated, assisted and supported Relay For Life Gibraltar in many different ways.
There are a great number of people to thank, many of whom have given up their time, raised and donated money to help make this Relay the success it has been and without them this would certainly not have been possible. They are numerous and are mentioned below in no particular order: Participants, Survivors and volunteers, St Johns Ambulance, Aquagib, Cancer Relief Gibraltar, Admiral Insurance (Gibraltar) Limited, Callaghan Insurance, delivery.gi, The Bulb, DJ Jona, Johnny Harper, u-mee, the staff and management at the GSLA, Gibralflora, Restsso, Domino’s Pizza, Lewis Stagnetto Ltd, GBC, Eroski, Christine Linares, Peter Canessa, Ben Lynch, Gibtelecom, Monique Sanchez, Phillip Borge and Anthony Roper, Parissa & Priyana from the Bollywood Fitness Club, Calypso Tours, Cisarego & Son Ltd, Janine Pereira and team from The Base Training Club, Fresh Entertainment, Stylos Dance Studios, Danza Academy, Showdance Company, JF Dance, Ministry of Transport, Gibraltar Bus Company, Light my Senses, TRENDS, and anyone else who we may have been inadvertently omitted.
On behalf of the organising committee — Alison, Lian, Franky, Hazel, Sofia, James & Therese — thank you. Whether you walked a lap, served cake, changed a bin bag, or lifted someone’s spirits, this victory is yours.
See you in 2027. Let’s keep walking toward a cure.
