GibSams is proud to announce the launch of a powerful new community partnership with the Kusuma Trust Gibraltar and The Peter J Isola Foundation to drive volunteer recruitment and training for the GibSilver programme-Gibraltar's first befriending and listening service for residents aged 55 and over. 

This initiative invites all local companies to release just one employee for 2 hours per week over 6 weeks to train as a GibSilver volunteer. The weekly training sessions will take place at the ISOLAS LLP offices, Portland House, every Tuesday from 16th September to 21st October 2025, between 9:00 and 11:00am. 

This will enable all Gibraltar firms the opportunity to join and participate in the GibSilver project to support and assist our seniors by simply releasing members of their staff for just 2 hours per week over the training period.

• No prior experience is necessary-only compassion, a minimum 30 minute weekly commitment, and a willingness to listen.

The Peter J Isola Foundation was established to celebrate the life and legacy of the Hon. Peter Joseph Isola OBE, former Senior Partner at ISOLAS LLP, who passed away in 2006.

Peter and his wife Rosie Isola MBE, who was recognised for her dedication and over 50 years of service to The Red Cross, were both passionate about supporting those less fortunate. Peter devoted much of his life to politics, working tirelessly to help the people of Gibraltar achieve their aspirations, while Rosie dedicated her time to charitable causes.

The Foundation was created in their honour to continue their vision of giving back to the community. Its primary goal is to support local charities and initiatives that make a tangible difference to the lives of people in Gibraltar. Since its inception, the PJI Foundation has funded and supported numerous charitable projects aligned with its mission.
