Jun 25 - New Local Charity Raises Awareness of Drug Misuse
New local charity ‘Stay Clean’ aims to raise awareness on drug related issues, including the affect that drug misuse has on a wide range of members of the community.
The charity will focus on diverting persons who may be at risk from using substances that are harmful to their well-being. It will also offer support and advice for any person who may have concerns about their own drug problems or those of a loved one.
Having received support from Social Services Minister Samantha Sacramento. The charity looks to work in partnership with other voluntary and official bodies in areas such as education, health and enforcement. The group was officially launched today, on World Drugs Day that raises awareness that drug use disorders are preventable and treatable.
