Apr 25 - Spanish Man Bailed Following Willis’s Road Arrest
A Spanish man who was arrested on Saturday evening following a suspected domestic violence incident appeared before the Lay Magistrates this morning.
Ruben Becerra Vasquez, 36, of Willis’s Road, was charged with one count of making threats to kill, one count of common assault, one count of resisting police and two counts of dangerous driving.
It is alleged Becerra Vasquez left his home with his two children (one aged three years and the other 18 months), following an incident. A call to police resulted in a car chase in the Upper Rock and Willis’s Rd. There was reportedly a brief stand-off until the children were returned to the officers.
His lawyer Francis Borastero-Porter has requested the docket of evidence.
Becerra Vasquez was bailed to the sum of £1,000 on his own recognizance and is due to appear before the Magistrates’ Court on Monday 4th July, with bail conditions to continue until then.
Carl Ramagge appeared for the Crown.
