Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Arson

A 43 year old Spanish male has been arrested on suspicion of Arson.
A statement from the RGP follows below:
A 43 year old Spanish male has been arrested on suspicion of Arson.
The arrest follows a report of a fire in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday 29th July), in relation to a fire within a bin-store located in the area of Mid-Harbour Estate. This resulted in the deployment of RGP Response Team officers and the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service (GFRS).
The investigation that was conducted immediately following this incident, which included reviewing of CCTV imagery, led Response Team officers to first identify the suspect and then locate him several hours later at a local residence. He was arrested on suspicion of arson and a search warrant executed resulted in items of clothing being seized. The investigation is ongoing.
