Man Charged With Domestic Abuse Offences

47 year old Jonathan FOLEY has been charged with a number of offences related to Domestic Abuse.
FOLEY was arrested yesterday evening (Sunday 18th January) by Response Team officers who attended his residence, following his failure to comply with the conditions of his Police Bail.
Upon Police attendance, FOLEY barricaded himself within an area of his residence, requiring the deployment of specialist personnel to assist in facilitating entry and effecting the arrest.
FOLEY was later interviewed and charged with the following offences;
- Two counts of Stalking involving Fear of Violence, or Serious Alarm or Distress
- One count of Resisting or Obstructing Police
- One count of Absconding
FOLEY remained in police custody until his appearance before Magistrates’ Court this morning.
A statement ended: “The Royal Gibraltar Police continues to encourage any victim of domestic abuse, or indeed anyone who may be aware of someone who may be experiencing any form of domestic abuse, to report the matter to us.
“We are committed to safeguarding vulnerable people and reducing harm, where necessary by working alongside our key partners. Our officers, including specialist investigators, will listen, support and act by bringing perpetrators to justice.
